I created this card for Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Blog Contest – and this week’s focus was “Sparkle”. I like this contest because it causes me to focus on techniques and looks that I might otherwise not think of or haven’t revisited in a while. I love sparkly effects and in this case, I painted them in with a brush and glitter glue. The greeting is embossed with Stampendous’ Star Dust embossing powder (my favorite – it’s transparent so any color of ink will shine through). I applied Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to the poppy from Penny Black’s “Blooming Garden” stamp set and used Technique Tuesday’s “Wildflowers” stamp set for the grasses and dragonflies. The butterflies are from Clearly Bespotted’s “Elegant Butterflies” stamp & die collection (I absolutely love this set!!) Rhinestones, pearls, and an orange satin ribbon tie up the finishing details.
